Shai Yehezkelli's Top Ten

Ido Bar-El - The teacher who made me interested in painting at art school. A great artist, and generally speaking, one of the good guys. His current show at the Tel-Aviv museum of art is beautiful.

Clonex - Whoever invented Clonex & Xanax should get the Nobel prize. This stuff saved my life so many times. I am a huge fan.

Smoking - Love/hate relationship, but I guess love won this round.

King For a Day… Fool for a Lifetime by Faith No More - One of the few albums that can still excite me as it did when I was a teen.

Tigger - My cat and my BFF.

Sigmar Polke's drawings - My first encounter with Polke was through his drawings back in 2002 when I had to give a lecture about them during my first year of BFA studies. Big game-changer.

Lukas Medium 5 - My recent discovery; gets my oil paint dry in less than a day and the texture is also brilliant.

Kafka - I enjoy reading a lot and I'm a fan of so many authors, but Kafka is probably the only one I keep going back to whenever I'm out of new books. Every time I read his work, it's like I’m reading it for the first time.

Instagram - I got addicted and it's not as bad as FB addiction.

Letting go of stuff - I hate collecting stuff. In my early twenties, I used to have a huge collection of records and books that I was so proud of, until I realized they just held me back. I hope to lose more stuff as I get older.
